Engineering Leader → AI Transformation Leader Connected Products · Agentic AI · Product Strategy

I am a technical leader with 15+ years building embedded software and connected product platforms — now transitioning toward AI transformation and product leadership. My work sits at the intersection of engineering depth, connected product strategy, and organizational change driven by AI.

Currently serving as Director of Software Engineering at GE Appliances, I lead a global team of 25+ engineers delivering software platforms across laundry appliance product lines. Beyond execution, I am focused on how AI and agentic systems can transform the way connected products are built, how data becomes intelligence, and how engineering organizations evolve to compete in an AI-native world.

I am pursuing an MIT Professional Education certificate in Applied Agentic AI for Organizational Transformation — and I write about what I’m learning at the intersection of connected products, AI strategy, and the future of product leadership.

Professional Journey

I grew up in Atlixco, Puebla, a small town in Mexico. From an early age I was drawn to understanding how things worked and finding ways to improve them. Curiosity and problem solving were constant themes, and engineering became the natural path to pursue those interests.

My first exposure to software came in middle school. I quickly realized it was a powerful way to solve complex problems. My formal education began in electronics engineering — combining hardware and software systems — but it became clear early in my career that software was where I could have the greatest impact.

Over time my work evolved from implementing embedded algorithms and firmware modules to leading increasingly complex programs across multiple teams, subsystems, and product platforms. And now, to asking a bigger question: how do we build organizations and products that don’t just use AI — but are fundamentally shaped by it?

Leadership Philosophy

My leadership style is built on three principles:

Systems Thinking Technology, people, and product strategy are interconnected. I focus on how they interact — not just how each performs in isolation.

Building Strong Teams High-performing teams don’t happen by accident. They are built through deliberate hiring, clear expectations, and an environment where engineers can do their best work.

Pragmatic Execution Vision without delivery is noise. I maintain focus on shipping real products that solve real problems — while keeping one eye on where things are heading.

Areas of Expertise

  • Agentic AI strategy and organizational transformation
  • Connected product platforms and IoT data intelligence
  • Embedded systems and safety-critical firmware
  • AI-enabled product leadership and feature definition
  • Scaling global engineering teams and processes

Where I’m Headed

My near-term goal is to transition from engineering leadership into a product or AI transformation leadership role — Director of Product Management, Chief Product Officer, or equivalent. I am positioned uniquely to bridge engineering execution and product strategy, hardware constraints and digital experience, and operational rigor with AI-native thinking.

The MIT certification is one step. The Insights I publish here are another. The products I help build are the proof.

Beyond the Work

I believe the most meaningful impact comes from building teams and systems that allow innovation to scale — and from staying genuinely curious about what comes next. That curiosity is what brought me from a small town in Mexico to leading global engineering teams, and it’s what’s driving me toward AI transformation leadership now.
